The Real is back (Jay-Z voice).. Na, but wassup with the wassup? You know how we do, massive music.. Still gotta finish up some of that WTT too.. I'll be sure to put that on.. Let's catch up tho..
My mans Cali Buss vid dropped a couple days ago, here's the link.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yJ3YR0xRWKM&feature=youtu.be Pretty dope, production by Brian Christ (@BrianChrist87).. Send me some feedback, or drop some on the comment section of the vid.. Stay up on the current CaliLYF movement with Cali Buss at the Tumblr http://calilyf.tumblr.com/.. Plugs, plugs and more plugs.. Real talk tho, might wanna get on board early while there's room..
Anyway.. I've been spinning this It's Good track back by Wayne f/ Drake and Jada, because the song is.... TOUGH.. Best word to describe this guy.. But of course the Music guy has to touch on the shot (double barrel shotgun at that) that was taken at Jay-Z by Wayne, and lightweight (shouts to my mans Walt on that Norf slang) jab by Drake.. LETS GO!!
Check it.. Background check first, Jay (supposedly) shot at Birdman in his song with 'Ye - H.A.M. "Really half a billi,
5:16 later..
Need I even explain? I guess I'll touch on it.. Wayne rapped what, 3/4 verses? Jay had 1 and owns the song, EASILY.. Wait.. #Easily.. He even says Wayne is next in line, "Right here, in my chair, with my crown and my Dear, Queen B, as I share, my/mic time with my Heir" He's letting Wayne have the Throne, but guess he don't want that to happen anymore with the droppin of Watch the Throne.. Hahhaha.. I don't even want to go super tough on this because it's all opinionated, but let the music speak.. Again to each it's own..
Sports Talk..
Football season is in full affect.. Look out for my STL Rams homie.. Bet we deep in the Playoffs this year, if not, I'm just gon get on the Team so Bradford has a decent target at WR.. And check my 2nd squad the Texans with Andre Johnson, ya deeg..
In Hoop, still a lock out.. (Thumbs down)..
Rant..
Told my cuz I'd lay this down, some qualities in a chick that are being looked for (Yoda talk).. But umm, peep it.. Older is a +, Job/Career (or at least knows what she wants to do with her life), Car, Of course cute, great personality, sociable, doesn't need to go out 4 days out of the week, maybe once a weekend, simple, coo with RedBox'n it every so often, umm, coo with my peoples, intelligent intellectual with intel on the sports scene, ahahah, na sports is a + tho (athlete or just likes to watch (real sports tho, basketball and football)).. Supportive, and some type of relationship with the Lord.. That's it off top, I mean that aint as tough as Chili list is it? Hahaha.. No particular order, just a rant..
Watch the Throne..
Let off on Otis on the last joint, so let's keep it going.. Oohp, got the Bonus Tracks too, Jesus, Illest Muthaf'er Alive is illlllllllllll (swine flu, chicken pocks, hives all that) That's a few Entries down the line tho.. But here you go..
5. Gotta Have It..
Favorite song period.. Off thee entire album.. Beat is incredible, James Brown voice on the sample, Jesus, back and forth flow untouched, this might the one that we can call even.. Matter fact, I think we gotta call this one a draw, straight up, I can't even choose.. 'Ye kills with the 1st bar, "Hello White America, assassinate my character" They feed off each other too niice, I wonder how the studio action went.. "Cuz I'm richer (Richard) and prior (Pryor) to this shi As in Richard Pryor with the drug problem, just cleverness by Jay.. But Jay kills with this line right here.. Beat drops perfect too.. "I wish I could give you this feeling, I'm planking on a million" I did a real life backflip when I heard this, it's just tight.. Shows his in tune-ness of what's going on in society, this what I call racist planking that people be doing.. Just overall tight.. Should I go 1 point each or no point? I go one point each, Draw Pilgrim.. Oh yeh, of course the racks on racks on racks Maybachs on Bachs on Bachs black on blacks on blacks part of the song is cold too..
6. New Day..
Me and the RZA connect.. Big ups to The RZA for making some a smooth track with the piano keys droppin.. 'Ye and J touch on bringing up a son and how they would treat em, all that.. Both have dope verses (as to be expected).. I'll give this one to Jay just for a few things he said that were too real to me.. "Sorry Junior, I already ruined ya" No matter how hard he tries, his son gon come up in a weird state cuz of his Pops being so famous, yada yada.. "Look a man dead in his eyes so he know you talk Truth when you speak it, give your word, keep it" Nuff said..
7. That's My
Originally had to skip over this guy everytime cuz I heard it a while back, but it's growing on me, can't stunt.. Kanye verse coo, but I like Jays better just cuz he's basically talkin bout Beyonce and how dope she is.. Talks about the lack of women of color being idolize, best line from the song.. "Back to my Beyonces, you deserve 3 Stacks, word to Andre".. Jay got it..
8. Welcome to the Jungle f/ Swizz Beats..
Shouts to Axel Rose for the title.. Swizz did his thing on this beat, head nodder for sure.. 'Ye opening with Outkast line, "I asked her where she wanna be when she 25, she turned around and looked at me and she said 'alive'" Just dope, cuz it's real.. Jay went off, "My Faith in God, every day is hard, every night is worse, that's why I Pray so hard" Then 'Ye came and went double off for 4 bars "Why I Pray so hard, this is crazy God, just when I thought I had everything I lost it all" Touching on his Moms passing I'm thinking? Kanye don't rap a lot on this song, so it's kinda an automatic to give it to Jay, and that's where I'm headed cuz dude is a genius.. Starts talking bout everyone who's passed.. "Through shots in the door, it died in Vegas" -2Pac "I'm a tortured Soul, I live in disguise, RIP to the leader of the Jackson 5ive" -Michael Jackson "I died in my sleep, I'm still Big Pimpin" -Pimp C (died in a car crash when he fell asleep at the wheel, and was featured on J hit Big Pimpin a while back).. Smooth, period.. "I'm just looking for Love, I know somebody got it" Line so tight.. "I'm losing myself, I'm stuck in the moment, I look in the mirror, my only opponent" My bad for droppin so many lines but Jay just kills that.. So Jay got this song as well..
Think we'll keep it at 4 songs each entry, so the score tally is Jay-Z 7 Kanye 2.. Thus far.. My opinion, not Truth, and I don't really care if you don't agree.. (shoulder shrug)..
But umm, the Carter IV is half way spun, and it's tight, better than expected, cuz I never felt the Carter III.. But I'll touch on that next time, as well as Wale, and Game album.. Too much music..
Track I'm spinning back: Lil Wayne f/ Jadakiss and Drake - It's Good.. Jada comes hard, Drake does his thing and Wayne spits.. Beat cold, and a I don't need no hook on this beat.. Easy money..
Til then it's always..
Peace, Love & Soul..
